Awala Chatany

Amla chutney is a popular Indian condiment made using Indian gooseberries (amla). Amla is rich in Vitamin C and is known for its various health benefits. The chutney is not only flavorful but also a great way to incorporate the nutritional benefits of amla into your diet.

Ingredients:

1 cup grated awala (Indian gooseberry)
1/4 cup grated coconut
2-3 green chilies (adjust to taste)
1 small piece of ginger
1 tablespoon oil
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
Curry leaves
Salt to taste
Instructions:

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When they splutter, add cumin seeds, asafoetida, and curry leaves.
Add grated awala, grated coconut, green chilies, and ginger. Cook until the amla is soft.
Allow it to cool, then blend into a smooth chutney.
Season with salt according to taste.
