Nutritional Value & Health Benefits of Turmeric

A very popular spice in India, turmeric is used regularly in Indian cooking as it has a beautiful yellow color, enhances taste, and of course, is a natural antibiotic.  It also said to have effect in controlling cancer cell growth. The compound curcumin present in turmeric has antibacterial and antiseptic qualities to fight infections and check the growth of bacteria.

Mix 1 tab of turmeric in 5 tabs of honey. Take 1/2 a tsp of this mixture twice every day to increase the immunity. 1 tsp of turmeric mixed in a glass of warm milk, taken before bedtime, helps in treating upper respiratory diseases.
